Narine in, no Gayle for India ODIs

Sunil Narine and Jason Mohammed were the new faces in the West Indies ODI squad for the 5-match series against India. The duo from Trinidad impressed the selectors after performing very well in the recently concluded domestic 50 over competition.

Mohammed was the top-scorer for Trinidad and Tobago with 227 runs in 5 matches. He was also named as the Player of the tournament and won the Richie Richardson trophy for being the most impressive batsman of the tournament.

Narine impressed everyone during the Champions League T20 in India with his variations that left the batsmen flummoxed and was also a part of the Bangladesh series with the 'A' team. He was the recipient of the Curtly Ambrose trophy for being the most outstanding bowler of the tournament. He ended the tournament with 15 wickets from just 5 matches. It included a best of 6/48 against the Leeward Islands.

There was no place though for Chris Gayle who led Jamaica to the title. Dwayne Bravo was not considered after suffering an injury.
