Ganguly, Donald part of Pune coaching staff

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly and former South African pacer Allan Donald will be part of the Pune Warriors coaching staff for the fifth season of the Indian Premier League.

Donald, the current bowling coach of the South African team, will reprise the same role for the Warriors while Ganguly will serve a dual role as a player as well as a mentor. Warriors will be without a Head coach as Geoff Marsh had resigned from that post last year in order to coach the Sri Lankan team.

Donald and Ganguly will be part of the staff that has Paddy Upton as the mental and conditioning coach and Praveen Amre as the batting coach.

Ganguly had joined the Pune team midway during IPL IV as a replacement for left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra. Ganguly, who was not taken by any team during the IPL 2011 auction, was later picked up the Pune team for a base price of USD 400,000. He has been retained for the same price which means Pune will have a purse of USD 1.6 million for the IPL auction which will take place on February 4.
