Kevon cooper ruled out of IPL V
Rajasthan Royals were dealt a major blow when their Trinidadian all-rounder, Kevon Cooper was ruled out for the rest of the IPL with a fractured knee. He is expected to be out for four to five weeks. The injury occured when Cooper was fielding on the boundary in the game against Delhi Daredevils on April 29 - he leapt full length to take a catch and fell badly on his knee. The resultant effect saw him fracturing his knee badly. Rahul Dravid, Royals' captain, said that losing Cooper is unfortunate for the team. "He has come in as a young kid and performed exceptionally well and done some difficult jobs for us," Dravid said.
Cooper was proving to be a star for the Royals - in his debut game against Punjab, he picked up four wickets and slammed a first-ball six. He was also the leading wicket-taker for the Royals and had taken 10 wickets in his 6 games. With Cooper now ruled out of the IPL, it remains to be seen whether the Royals ask for a replacement player.
