India squad unchanged ; Dinda comes in for Umesh

The Sandeep Patil led selection committee announced the squad for the third Test against England starting on December 5 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It was an unchanged 15-man Indian squad barring the exclusion of Umesh Yadav, who was out due to a back injury.

Yadav's injury is said to be more serious than it was initially thought to be and even though there is a long break before the next Test starts, the Delhi seamer is not expected to recover.

Ashok Dinda, who was brought in as cover, first for Ishant for the Ahmedabad Test and then for Yadav for the Mumbai game, retains his place in the squad.

The Indian team members have been given a short break and have been asked to report in Kolkata on December 2.

The selection panel was to announce the team for the remaining two Test matches but did so only for the Kolkata match in a clear perform-or-perish message for some of the under-performing players.

"The teams for the fourth Test and the T20 Intl series, will be picked later," BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale said in a statement.

India squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni(capt and wk), Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Ashok Dinda, Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay.
