Mithun replaces injured Vinay for England T20s

India's medium-pace bowler Vinay Kumar has been ruled out of the T20 series against England due to a calf strain. He will be out of action for 2 weeks and has been replaced in the national squad by fellow Karnataka pacer Abhimanyu Mithun.

Incidentally, Vinay Kumar made the side only as a replacement for L Balaji, who himself was ruled out due to an injury.

Vinay Kumar has played 1 Test, 22 ODIs and 8 T20Is for India. He hasn't played for India since the T20 match against South Africa in March this year. Vinay was initially picked for the ODI series against Sri Lanka in June, but an injury forced him out of the squad. His replacement, Irfan Pathan, grabbed the opportunity and Vinay hasn't been able to make a comeback after that.

His replacement, Mithun, has played 4 Tests and 5 ODIs. His last international game was against West Indies in Chennai last December.
